From 10 to 12 January 2027, the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, will host the International Tourism Investment Forum (ITIF) in collaboration with UN Tourism, following an agreement signed at Dubai’s Arabian Travel Market 2026.
According to a statement, the agreement was signed by Her Excellency Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism of Bahrain, and Her Excellency Shaikha Nasser Al Nuwais, Secretary-General of UN Tourism. The signing took place in the presence of tourism sector officials and representatives.
The forum aims to bring together ministers, investors, financial institutions and private-sector leaders to discuss the future of tourism investment, project financing and partnership-building for long-term economic and social returns.
Bahrain’s tourism projects and investment opportunities will be showcased to international investors during the forum. The programme will focus on identifying emerging trends in tourism investment, examining financing mechanisms and encouraging collaborations between public and private stakeholders.
Bahrain Positions Itself as Regional Investment Hub
Her Excellency Al Sairafi said the agreement marks a significant step toward positioning Bahrain as a regional and international destination for tourism investment. “The Forum will give investors and decision-makers a global platform to find new opportunities and build lasting partnerships,” she said. “It will also show what Bahrain offers: a strong investment environment, advanced infrastructure, a strategic location and a diverse tourism offer.”
Her Excellency Al Nuwais emphasized the role of investment in driving sustainable tourism growth. “Investment decides whether tourism grows in a way that creates jobs, builds resilience and lasts,” she said.
“UN Tourism will bring its investment expertise and global network to Manama, and we thank the Kingdom of Bahrain for hosting the Forum. Our ambition is clear: to help turn tourism potential into investable projects that deliver lasting value.”
